Busting the People

You may have seen the Remote Area Medical project or something like it in a city near you. A two day free medical, vision and dental clinic set up in a  high school where folks such as this lady in the picture have been in line, camping out since 5pm yesterday to get a number for the start at 6am today.

The National Guard was used for security to keep the peace and the 1,200 slots for today were taken by 3am.

The extensive local media coverage of  "get your ticket and get in line" also serves the purpose of getting us accustomed to possible things to come, say food lines. 

This is what America has become.

Trillions for bankers and the war machine but just the mention of universal health care for all brings on the cries of socialism, communism and whatever other term is in vogue for not taking care of our own.

Take a look at the Cost of War to the United States. Go the trade offs and see how your state or city could use all of the blood money being thrown around the world for the benefit of those at the top of the killing chain.

If we weren't being robbed through taxation of our labor, I'd say millions of people would be glad to give a little more to some real charity causes that might lead to permanent help for the poor instead of just a few in a two day event. If our Congress and state legislatures weren't bought by the insurance and pharmaceutical corporations, they just might come up with a health care system that didn't  bankrupt individuals and states. If our food production wasn't corporate controlled and subsidized by their legislative friends and there was a focus on healthy foods instead of big profits, we could take a burden off of health care with a less poisoned population. Lots of ifs .....

The protests in Wisconsin are encouraging.  Taking a cue from the Egyptians may seem odd but maybe the time has come for Americans to take their frustrations to the streets and capitols. These "step by step, inch by inch" moves to widen the gap between the rich and poor have to be confronted.

The right wing media shills who are whoring for the moneyed interests are blasting these protests as anti-American. They essentially are saying everyone has to pay his share as we all but a few must become poor together.

The fake 'tea party' is even having counter controlled opposition rallies against the union supporters.  Obama and some of the dems give lip service to the unions but that's just political maneuvering. It's manipulation number 1 ... divide and conquer. The ends of the two party game are the same ... debt slavery and submission of the people.

Maybe we're seeing a grassroots 'blowback' but it has to go beyond the personal pay and benefit cuts of this protest. It has to be aimed at the bankers, the shadow government, the war promoters and their media lackeys.

If we don't, well ... we all may be getting in line to get that pair of eyeglasses or a tooth fixed or that last loaf of bread. The powers that be like us to beg before we die.

But slowly we see the 'elite' worry that they are losing control. I tend to think their plans of  'busting the people' won't be successful.

Americans arguing with Americans. Just what 'they' want to keep the focus off of the deeper criminal issues. 

When the outcome is in doubt, always evoke the ghost of Reagan.

Celebrate and then on to the next battle

Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated.

A Mubarak Moment

A 'Mubarak Moment' could become a new pop phrase for when everyone from the media to the president appear to anticipate and report something that doesn't quite end up as their talk suggested.

Today was almost one of those "Dewey Wins" days.


Maybe it's the move that those in the background actually wanted. Give some power to the CIA helpmate Omar Suleiman and hopefully buy time to get their plans straight. It gives the appearance of appeasing Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Or maybe it's an attempt to really stir up the protests? How are those in the streets and the military going to react? Peaceful, repression, chaos? Will Egyptians kill more Egyptians? Send a message not only to the other restless Middle East countries but to Americans that taking protests too far will have consequences? Mubarak hinted at it.

The idea that this is one more step to 'balkenize' the Middle East is still in play. Plans that go back decades don't go away easily but plans can go astray.

Break this cycle of control of the people and never ending war?

It will take millions of people in the street ... with resolve ... and love. 

First in Egypt ... then in the rest of the world.

Nicolas Sarkozy received his marching orders from the bankers to implement austerity measures but things aren't going as well as planned.  With millions protesting and the threat of fuel supplies running out, the government said it would resort to force if necessary to prevent paralysis in the economy.   

It would be a desperate last resort move but Sarkozy may have to enlist his friends in the CIA and Mossad to help him out.

Saudi 'intelligence' sets the stage and the media obliges by making sure we get the message.

Saudi Arabian authorities have informed France about a new threat from al-Qaeda, French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux disclosed on Monday.

Quoting Saudi intelligence agencies, Hortefeux said the alert spoke of an imminent al-Qaeda threat to Europe, France in particular. "This is not about overestimating the threat or underestimating it. I am indicating, based on all these elements, that the threat is real," he added.

His remarks came during a joint TV and Radio interview during which he also revealed that Paris had been told to specifically watch out for Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), an off-shoot of the global terror outfit.  {see AQAP's new issue of Inspire magazine}

Nothing like a little false flag to end the French protests and force the attention away from banker and government crimes and back onto the Muslim 'threat.'

Noise Against the Bankers in Europe

At least some in Europe are taking to the streets against the globalist bankers. Unlike here in America where we kneel  to our slavemasters and point our fingers at the wrong enemy.



Quite the coincidence that on the day of the strikes and protests it's wall to wall 'news' of the al Qaeda "big deal plot" to terrorize Europe, personally signed off by Osama Bin Laden.  Even Adam Pearlman Gadahn comes out from his Mossad hiding place to release a new video. Plus the CIA just can't seem to assassinate al-Awlaki so he too gets some face time in front of the camera to threaten the West.

The fear card is not working as well as the bankers would like so they try and try again with this continuous inundation of lies.

Bravo to those in the streets. We'll see if they can make a difference.

The "Steel City" gives new meaning to the police state

The folks who want to speak out at the G20 in Pittsburgh are not being organized by Glenn Beck and his ilk nor being choreographed by Fox News. That's what concerns the criminal elite who will gather to further their agenda of economic slavery and put on a show of force against 'free speech.'







Free speech doesn't come easy.

IN THE weeks leading up to the Group of 20 economic summit of world leaders in Pittsburgh September 24 and 25, the mainstream media saturated the city with alarming stories of "violent" and "unruly" protesters.

But these stories also reassured residents that a slew of law enforcement agencies--local and state police, SWAT teams, the National Guard and the Secret Service--would ensure public order and protect private and public property throughout the city.

One question, however, didn't receive as much attention: who would protect the right to free speech?

Ahead of his arrival in Pittsburgh for the summit, President Barack Obama made it clear that he didn't value the opinions of protesters, anyway. "I was always a big believer...that focusing on concrete, local, immediate issues that have an impact on people's lives is what really makes a difference, and that having protests about abstractions [such] as global capitalism or something, generally, is not really going to make much of a difference," Obama said.

But if Obama thinks the demonstrations are irrelevant, his administration is going to great lengths to harass and intimidate them. The projected cost of the police presence--to include some 2,000 National Guard troops, 1,000 state troopers, 900 Pittsburgh police and perhaps thousands more police from nearby municipalities--is upward of $20 million.

The authorities will have helicopters, Humvees, prototypes of a new generation of top-of-the-line police cruisers--and specially outfitted police bicycles. "It ties in nicely with the whole green effort," said Chris Andrews, general manager of the military equipment contractor that donated the bikes.

Several buildings and sports fields belonging to the Pittsburgh public schools have been made available to law enforcement and military agencies to house personnel and provide landing pads for the helicopters.

But activists, on the other hand, have had to file numerous lawsuits to get city and state agencies to issue permits for peaceful protests and other activities. The city also put pressure on universities and other institutions to distance themselves from planned demonstrations, according to activists. {more}

The repression begins.....

Sitting here on the hill in Schenley Park I watch no less than 4 military helicopters constantly buzz the Pittsburgh Skyline. Police vans from Philadelphia and beyond patrol the streets of downtown creating a state of fear, a state of occupation. Over 4000 police, including 2000 national guard troops, some fresh from Iraq, are on call to ensure that Obama’s G20 party goes without a hitch.

Already the police have been going out of there way to create a state of fear before the summit starts. Seeds of Peace, a group that provides free food for activists, has been repeatedly harassed, their bus impounded, and a member arrested without reason. The Landslide Community Farm has also been raided and illegally searched by over 20 cops. No warrant was provided, the only reason given is that it was a matter of “national security.” Meanwhile the police raided several activist homes overnight, drawing guns on people, and towing cars. And after being told that the 3 Rivers Climate Convergence could leave tents setup overnight, low and behold, they have all disappeared by morning.

What is important to recognize is that this is not just a rogue Pittsburgh police force. Because the G20 has been declared a “National Security Event” the Secret Service is in charge of all police operations in relation to the G20. The Secret Service are Obama’s people. They answer to him. The preemptive repression on the streets of Pittsburgh is being done on Obama’s watch. Don’t forget that.

In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post, Obama said that protests are ineffective and that globalization is inevitable. So much for all his fiery campaign rhetoric about renegotiating NAFTA and other trade deals that have screwed workers and destroyed the environment. {more}

Pittsburgh is under 'house arrest'

Downtown banks and businesses have boarded up their windows and been forced to take out terrorism insurance... Our parks have become tent cities for police and protesters alike. The 3 rivers are shutdown by the Coast Guard and there are only three ways to access the city.... {more}

National security investigation? and lawsuits.....

The 16-page lawsuit focuses on three specific incidents involving the Seeds of Peace Collective, a group founded in 1986 to provide food and water to protesters. A bus, retrofitted to run on vegetable oil and solar power, that is used by the group to prepare meals, arrived in Pittsburgh from Montana on Sept. 13. On Friday, members of Seeds of Peace returned to where the bus had been parked and locked in a private driveway on Melwood Avenue in Oakland to find one police officer inside the bus and another in its doorway. The members asked what they were doing and told them they did not have consent to either enter or search the vehicle. The officers had the bus towed to the city's impound lot, and Michael Bowersox, its co-owner, had to pay $220 to get it back.

"This is the absolute worst police harassment I've experienced in 19 years," he said. "We have a long history of being committed to nonviolence, in the tradition of Gandhi and Martin Luther King."

The complaint also said that another bus operated by Everybody's Kitchen, which was parked in a private driveway in Bloomfield, was subjected to harassment, too. Yesterday afternoon, city officials told both buses they had until 6:30 p.m. to vacate the Sassafras Street property where they had been parked. Bob Johnson, an artist who leases the property, said a city building inspector approached the owner yesterday morning, cited him for several code violations and threatened to fine him $1,000 a day unless they moved.

The Seeds of Peace bus is equipped with enough supplies to make 5,000 meals, said Mr. Mark, 29, of Missoula, Mont. Contacts in Pittsburgh helped the food buses get permission to use the Sassafras Street property, which sits under the Bloomfield Bridge and is covered with scrap-metal sculptures. Mr. Johnson allowed police on the grounds on Sunday night when more than 30 police officers dressed in riot gear showed up at about 11:30 p.m., the lawsuit said.

"They informed the owner that this was a national security investigation and that no warrant was necessary." After about 20 minutes of discussion, Mr. Johnson allowed police to search the property, but they could not go on the buses. {more}

Why not hold the meeting on an isolated Pacific atoll, or a secluded, desert military installation? It would certainly be cheaper, let alone significantly less risky.

Cheesy 'Protest' in Nashville Promoted by the Controlled Opposition

Hosea the flag vendor is spending the summer selling Don’t Tread on Me flags at tea parties.

Today's anti-Obama 'tea party' protest in Nashville was a dud. But what do you expect? Local talk radio stations put together, promoted and supplied the speakers. They want to be seen as patriotic voices for the people and gain some listeners and ad revenue.

Controlled Opposition......

Where were these shills over the last eight years when voices of sanity were needed on the airwaves? Oh yeah, following the neocon playbook; promoting wars and propaganda. Killing has always been a top priority. Some are christian?/zionists for whom Israel can do no wrong and no debate is allowed without calling names and yelling over callers who have legitimate concerns. One says he is paid $140,000 a year and you know at that price he will not go against his handlers... there's too much competition for jobs as useful idiots.

Ass clowns who never saw a war for profit they didn't like and they are the organizers??

Pathetic excuse for a protest and that may be plan all along. Marginalize dissenters through the controlled media.

Protest is the American way for expressing grievances. We need to be in the streets and in numbers that will count. The criminals are winning and we don't seem to have a lot of time left.

Teabaggers Unite to Help Promote Talk Radio



Nashville's talk radio stations managed to wheedle maybe a thousand cranks to stand in the broiling heat for another one of their promotional events today. Well, actually they're calling it a Tea Party rally to take back our country from Barack Obama and the socialist Democrats. But the star attractions are the city's right-wing radio hucksters and, while the protesters may think they're making a bold patriotic statement, Pith suspects the radio stations are mainly interested in driving up ratings.

The glassy eyed Bobbie Patray of Tennessee Eagle Forum opened the rally with this prayer asking God to kick the liberal SOBs out of power:

"Father, we ask your blessing today on this land. We are in such trouble. You have commanded us to pray for our leaders, and lord we want to be faithful in doing that. Regardless of who they are, they are in there because they were elected. And we pray that you'll be faithful in the next election to make some changes."

Then the rally's emcee, tax nut Ben Cunningham, got down to business: "Talk radio has been our Paul Revere. If it weren't for talk radio, we simply wouldn't have a consistent single source of news. And we've got the best talk radio folks here in Nashville!" Cunningham proclaimed as he began introducing the radio loudmouths Steve Gill, Ralph Bristol and finally Phil Valentine, who asked the teabaggers to send golf balls to Congress for some reason.

They even found a black woman military veteran--a threefer!--to speak to the throng of white faces and prove to the media that teabaggers love all God's children. Pith didn't catch her name. "I was offended by being called a racist redneck teabagger," she yells.

The teabaggers are so zany that only four elected officials were willing to be seen with them at today's rally: state Reps. Glen Casada, Terri Lynn Weaver and Josh Evans and Sen. Jack Johnson. No sign of any of the GOP candidates for governor. {source}

11:55 a.m. — Now we’re cooking with gas. Several hundred people have descended on Legislative Plaza, waiting for the rally to begin. Every time a passing motorist honks, the crowd cheers.

A dump truck keeps circling the block and honking, to wild applause.

Tea Party Three kicks off with a big ol’ freedom yell. “Woo-hoo!” says the crowd.

12:02 p.m. — You know who’s having a long day? Jim Cooper’s staff. His office’s convenient downtown location makes it easy for unhappy constituents to poke their heads in and share some thoughts about his vote on cap and trade.

“You should have seen the looks on their faces,” said Denver Woders of Ashland City, who stopped by Cooper’s office with a sign that declared Cooper “Nancy Pelosi’s Boy.”

12:17 — Talk radio steps up to the mic. Hi, Steve Gill! Legislative Plaza is pretty crowded.

Steve Gill warns crowd that gas prices and home heating prices “are gonna double. And Congress didn’t even read the bill.”

“Boo!” says the crowd.

12:30 — Favorite sign so far? “My other sign is a pitchfork.”xxxx

12:45 — Fair Tax advocates putting in a plug for replacing the income tax with a flat sales tax. Crowd applauds idea of repealing the 16th Amendment.

12:46: You know who’s having a good day? Hosea the flag vendor. Suddenly those little yellow Don’t Tread on Me flags are everywhere. {more}

A sad day in the history of protest.

The left and the right are playing into the hands of the elite.

Some for profit and some because of just downright ignorance.

Anti-Government Protests

If you think about it, there's not a government in the world that doesn't need a good dose of protest. Not a damn one of them care a bit about the common people, except when it suits their purposes and then it's only for show. The actions of government need to be questioned and yelled at in the streets. The more involved the better, but only if it's real.

It's seems that outside money and it's influence may be in play in Iran to feed the flames.
Xymphora, Scott Crighton, WRH and many others share opinions on the details. Paul Craig Roberts give us a good overview here and here.

There should be a pent up tension in the youth of all countries and a spontaneous outcry against what and who is trying to control them. There's no excuse for not taking to the streets but plenty of 'reasons' for not doing so.

Sitting in front of a computer screen, voting for the designated winner/loser and accepting the status quo is not going to get it. Change will not come through sanctioned political activity. It comes through physical action. Feet in the street. Non-violent if not met with violence.

But that's the problem. Protest is 'illegal' in most circumstances according to those who are in control. Too many people are saying "There's nothing we can do." Our own government has said that protest is 'low level terrorism.'

"Step inside your 1st amendment 'free speech zone' and be happy that we allow that."

Remember Kent State. That's where Americans killed their own to set an example. There are always some who will obey orders, make mistakes or take the money to do it.

The Iranian militia is being blamed for bloodshed. That's analogous to the US using Blackwater or others of that ilk to keep the folks in line. The well paid will do things that maybe the lower end of the pay scale military would not. Are there enough constitutional 'Oath Keepers' out there?

There's some differences and similarities between the late 60's/early 70's and 2009. There were government paid provocateurs, think Hoffman, Ayers, Rubin etc., but the draft in the Vietnam War really pissed a lot of people off. Forceably sending the unwilling into a war to possibly die for lies didn't set well with the youth who wanted to live a full life.

Now with the 'volunteer' military, dumbed down educational system, media manipulations and 'revised' history, the ranks of the pissed off are diminished. Strength in numbers is what the controllers fear most. So they use fear, economic uncertainty, conformity, divide and conquer and the vast resources of stolen money for whatever immediate purposes suits their fancy to keep us in line and out of the streets.

Can we take back our country? Can revolution anywhere succeed? And what would we do with it if we did take down the established order? Can honesty overcome the tendency towards greed?

I'd like to find out.

Code Pink Goes to AIPAC

Controlled Opposition?

Most of the time when Code Pink speaks or interrupts a congressional hearing or in this case the AIPAC conference, it's hard to disagree with what they say. But do they stop short of the bottom line truth? Since the Pinkers always seem to gain access to wherever they want to go and without getting tasered and jailed for a long time as would happen to any of the rest of us, it always brings to mind if they are not part of the controlled opposition. Who funds them? They have a lot of cash.

CODEPINK Interrupt Israeli President at AIPAC Conference

Calls for Ending Occupation, Lifting Siege of Gaza, and Diplomancy with Iran

WASHINGTON - May 4 - During Israeli Pres. Shimon Peres' speech today at the annual AIPAC (American Israeli Political Action Committee) policy conference at the Washington Convention Center, CODEPINK members raised banners saying "Want Peace? End the Occupation," "What About Gaza?," and "No Money for War Crimes."

As the six activists were forcibly dragged away from the stage, they shouted similar phrases including "Tikun olam (Heal the world) for Gaza, too!", all meant to draw attention to widespread opposition to AIPAC's policies lobbied to Congress that include unconditional support and financing for Israel's militaristic policies including the recent devastating invasion of Gaza, building of illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, the separation wall, refusal to negotiate with the Palestinians' democratically elected representatives, and threats to attack Iran.

"The brutal invasion of Gaza was a breaking point for me and many American Jews," said CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin, who recently led a 60-person delegation to Gaza. "I was appalled by the devastation and the suffering I saw, particularly among the children. As a mother, I feel compelled to speak out against Israel's bombing of civilians and the ongoing siege that is so devastating to the lives of Gaza's 1.5 million people-most of whom are under 18."

While AIPAC claims to represent the U.S. Jewish community, its wholesale support of the Israel government goes against the majority opinions of the Jewish Americans. According to a recent survey by the Jewish lobby group J Street, 76 percent of American Jews support a two-state solution, 69 percent support negotiating with a Fatah-Hamas unity government, and 59 percent felt the Gaza invasion did not improve Israel's security.

"Like most American Jews, I grew up with a deep appreciation for the state of Israel," said Rae Abileah, a young American Jew of Israeli descent. "After witnessing the attack of Gaza on TV and hearing the calls for crippling sanctions on Iran, I can no longer avert my eyes to the other side of the story most rabbis still aren't talking about. I am joining the dozens of Jewish organizations, and the growing global movement, advocating a change in the Israeli policies of occupation and aggressive violence. It's high time to drop the victim narrative so that we may all survive, and one day thrive as neighbors."

CODEPINK activists inside the AIPAC conference (with its theme "Relationships Matter") were: Medea Benjamin, 56, Rae Abileah, 26, Blaine Clarke, 29, Christianna Reinstein, 21, Desiree Fairooz, 53, and Tighe Barry, 52.

"The most important relationships for Israel to cultivate are not with U.S. Congressional allies but with the Palestinian people," said Christianna Reinstein, a student of Middle Eastern studies who joined the protest inside the AIPAC conference today. "AIPAC's lobbying of Congress has not made Israel more secure and has hurt American efforts to improve relations in the Arab world." {source}
