CIA CONTROL - FROM BRITAIN TO JAPAN?

Image from: nwoobserver.wordpress.com/.../

There is a view that the CIA controls many nations.

1. One example is New Zealand, whose former prime minister David Lange died in mysterious circumstances. (David Lange says US threatened to kill him.)

And, at times, Indonesia, Ecuador and many more (The CIA's control of countries around the world)

Japan may be another example.

Japan's prime minister has resigned after failing to move a US base

In June 2010, his replacement, Naoto Kan, promised close ties with Washington. (Kan pledges closer ties with US)

Sarkozy of France and Merkel of Germany are said to be working for the CIA. (SARKOZY AND THE CIA / Angela Merkel of the CIA?)

American Luke Coffey works for US Defence Secretary Liam Fox

2. Meanwhile, in the UK, we learn from The Sunday Times, 6 June 2010, that the UK Defence Minister lets a US 'mole' roam the Ministry of Defence

UK Defence Secretary Liam Fox (Fox dismisses gay smears ) has Luke Coffey, a man with links to the CIA, as a special adviser.

Liam Fox is said to want the UK to buy American, rather than British, military equipment.

Luke Coffey runs the London branch of an American think tank called Censa (Council for Emerging National Security Affairs).

At least a quarter of the members listed on its website have been in the CIA or other American intelligence agencies.

Luke Coffey has been issued with a pass giving him access to all areas of the Ministry of Defence.

Lord Moonie

3. The Americans seem to have very strong links to certain UK politicians and people in the military.

The Sunday Herald discovered that about half the parliamentary questions tabled by Lord Moonie, the former UK defence minister, 'relate to areas of commercial interest to US-based Northrop Grumman Corporation.'

Moonie has been a consultant to Northrop Grumman IT.

Moonie has been accused of being one of four Labour lords ready to accept money in return for helping amend legislation. Moonie, 61, said he would make introductions in return for £30,000 a year. - Cash for questions: new row over Scottish lord’s £30k deal

4. According to Private Eye (UK), August 2005:

Sir Robert Walmsley, former head of UK defence procurement, procured himself a job as director of US arms firm the EDO Corporation.

Admiral lord Boyce, the chief of the UK defence staff who retired in 2003, became an adviser to the American Computer Sciences Corporation in 2004. Boyce told Private Eye that he advised CSC on its bid for a £6 billion defence contract.

"Sir Clive Whitmore, the Ministry of Defence's top civil servant at the time of the monster and totally corrupt al-Yamamah arms deal with Saudi Arabia, shares his Directorship of NM Rothschild with the Old Harrovian Charles Guthrie." - Lord Guthrie supporting the Military Industrial complex ... and Israel

Brown, agent of the CIA?

5. Britain's leaders all seem to work for the CIA.

"When Gordon Brown was a student at the University of Edinburgh… the young Labour and anti-apartheid activist was handed a list by an individual known to be a top CIA agent based in Britain.

"On the list were the names of a number of British socialists and anti-apartheid activists. Although Brown was said not to have known of his American contact's intelligence ties at the time, the British intelligence sources revealed that Brown has been on the CIA's payroll ever since he took possession of the list." - Columns: 'Washington watch' by Tumbler Prospect Magazine July ...

Leyland ceased to exist. Iberdrola took over Scottish Power. Ferrovial took over BAA...

6. Many of Britian's top companies have disappeared or been taken over.

BP may be next.

"The most startling takeover target of the year will be BP, which will attract interest from Exxon Mobil... With the crude oil price falling to its lowest level since the 1990s, BP will be historically cheap by most measures..." - After a year of shocks, prepare for more in 2009

7. Britain's military now appears to be run by the Pentagon and Britain's nuclear missiles are American-controlled. - Anger as Britain secretly sells off its stake in Aldermaston ...

8. The CIA seems to be able to control Britain's police and courts, when it suits them. - LOCKERBIE BOMBING EVIDENCE 'PLANTED' - Mail on Sunday 21 December 2008

Victor Rothschild worked for the British security services. Was he also working for Mossad?

9. In 1965 Angleton, and President Johnson, decided to commission a report on Britain's secret services.

This report recommended sending more spies to Britain.

It seemed that the CIA was going to treat Britain like Indonesia or Pakistan.

In order to ensure that there was an elite which would support US interests, the CIA would try to gain control of MI5 and MI6, use dirty tricks to get rid of anti-American politicians, and place pro-American puppets into positions of power.

In 1996, in the Guardian, Martin Kettle suggested that New Labour was all about Britain being in with the Americans.

10. In a talk to Labour Party branches in 1996, Robin Ramsay (Lobster Magazine) pointed out some interesting links between New labour and the USA:

Jonathan Powell, Blair's top man in Downing Street, used to work in Britain's Washington embassy and is suspected by some of having been our spook liaising with the CIA.

Former UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband is the son of a Jewish Marxist.

Top Blair aide David Milliband did a degree at the USA's MIT and Brown's top aid Edward Balls went to Harvard.

Gordon Brown spent his holidays in the library at Harvard.

The US encouraged large numbers of Labour MPs to take free trips to America (Israel also invited a large number of Labour MPs to Israel).

In 1986 Tony Blair went on a US-sponsored trip to America and came back a supporter of the nuclear deterrent.

In 1993 Blair attended a Bilderberg Group meeting (secretive right wing organisation) and not long afterwards became Labour leader.

Four of the Blair cabinet were members of the Anglo-American elite group the British American Project; three of the Blair cabinet attended Bilderberg meetings.

Peter Mandelson become Chair of British Youth Council which began as the British section of the World Assembly of Youth, which was set up and financed by MI6 and then taken over by the CIA in the 1950s.

And the unions?

According to Ramsay: "The CIA also ran the anti-communist international trade union movement, the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, the ICFTU...

By the mid 1950s nearly a quarter of the TUC's annual budget was going to the ICFTU, a CIA operation.

Space Defenders

So does that mean the aliens from Space Invaders were actually retaking their home planet? That we were the invaders? This t-shirt just blew my mind. From the incomparable Glennz.

Speaking of Space Invaders, game designer Shinobi is reworking the game using a scene from Raiders of the Lost Arcade, part of Futurama's Anthology of Interest II episode, including Rush's Tom Sawyer as the soundtrack, of course.

And speaking of Futurama, it has been confirmed that FOX is reviving the series with an order of 26 episodes for 2010! Good news indeed.

Dead Show Walking: Prison Break

After four seasons, Fox is finally sending Prison Break to death row. "It just got down to the point where a lot of stories have been told," the network's entertainment president, Kevin Reilly, told the assembled TV critics and bloggers at the Television Critics Association press tour.

No kidding. Michael Scofield and his degenerate band of escaped convicts, fallen lawmen, turncoat assassins, drug addicts, murders and rapists have been in and out of prison, double and triple-crossed, shot and maimed more times than I can remember and yet they are still trying to finish "just one more thing."

The show was great in the beginning as Scofield (Wentworh Miller), a brilliant engineer got himself arrested to break his framed, lowlife brother Lincoln Burrows out of jail, with an elaborate body tattoo to guide his way. Scofield was a force of good thrown into the lion's den, but, over the course of four seasons, broke so many laws and crossed so many boundaries that he became no better than those he brought with him, drained of his morale authority.

The cast of Prison Break was the most depraved, unlikable group of characters assembled on TV since Oz, and I say this as a person who watched every episode. This season, I've just been watching with a morbid desire to see them all get killed. Reilly said the decision to cancel allows the series to end on a high creative note. I can only hope the writers follow though on the trajectory of the show and leaves all the characters dead in unmarked graves. Any happy ending would be a disappointment.

That being I will miss there being someone named T-Bag on network television. I can't believe they got away with that one. There was more good news too — it looks like Fringe will continue and has a coveted slot after American Idol. Wow, usually Fox just destroys everything I love.

I Want To Go To Mt. Splashmore!

Is there anything left that the Simpsons haven’t slapped their brand on? Like Herschel Krustofsky slapping the Krusty Brand Seal of Approval on another cheap product, Fox has found something new to add their logo to – a theme park ride. And I want to ride it.

The new Universal Theme Park attraction will allow people to "experience a side of Springfield previously unexplored as they enjoy the new ride's interpretation of thrill rides, dark rides and 'live' shows that make up a new fantasy amusement park dreamed up by the show's cantankerous Krusty the Clown." Fun, but after 18 seasons couldn’t they do more than a single ride? I have a few suggestions for some more.

The natural connection is, of course, Itchy and Scratchy Land - the violentest place on earth. There is Torture Land, Explosion Land, Searing Gas Pain Land and Unnecessary Surgery Land. With rides like Head Basher, Blood Bath, Mangler and Itchy's Mine Field there are plenty of attractions to pick from, but I love the Log Ride, pictured above.

Next up, Mt. Splashmore!
I want to go to Mt. Splashmore,
Take me, take me, take me, take me now!
Now! Now! Now! Now! Now!
Mt. Splashmore, take me there right now! Yay!
This water park has the best name for a ride, ever: Challenge the raging water of death. Dare to discover what water is really made of! H2WHOA!

Speaking of water rides, how could I forget The Little Land of Duff attraction at Duff Gardens where Lisa drinks the water and becomes the Lizard Queen!

Duff Beer for me!
Duff Beer for you!

I'll have a Duff,

You have one too!

They could even keep the Seven Duffs mascots: Sleazy, Queazy, Edgy, Surly, Tipsy, Remorseful, and Dizzy.

The park needs another roller coaster, so I would suggest the train from Baboon Country, USA – as long as the baboons attack the train each time it rolls though their enclosure.

Speaking of Rev. Lovejoy, there is also the Holy Roller-Coaster from the church fundraiser, as well as the Tunnel of Abstinence and the Whack-A-Moses game.

So come on Fox, you can do better than a single ride. It’s time for an entire theme park – the show has been running long than most teenagers have been alive.

Fox Not So Freakin’ Sweet

Why can’t Fox take a joke? The network’s overpriced lawyers are throwing their weight around and coming down heavy on Swiss Family Guy Robinson, a small stage show by Canadian Brian Froud, that blended the characters of Family Guy with the 1812 novel Swiss Family Robinson.

Froud’s one-man show debuted at the Toronto Fringe Festival and was an immediate hit with fans and critics alike. He turned it into a regular performance and started touring the show. All good, right? Not exactly. Despite Family Guy being the king of the meta reference, Fox didn’t see the humour in the show.

"When we learned that this production had made unauthorized use of the Family Guy characters and material, we asked that the producers cease and desist and they have complied. Protecting our intellectual property and copyrights is something we take very seriously at Twentieth Century Fox Television," says Chris Alexander, vice president of media relations for Fox Television.

It seems the network that is famed for broadcasting and then canceling creative shows – Arrested Development, Futurama, Greg the Bunny, Titus, Undeclared, Action, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Firefly and Family Guy twice – is now concerned about protecting its artistic integrity (investment). The oddity of this is Family Guy wouldn’t exist without the plundering pop culture’s past. Each episode is a pastiche of other people’s movies and TV shows that if the same cease and desist was applied to the show it would never have made it on the air.

Froud doesn’t get it either: “We are huge fans of the show ourselves and would never do anything to harm it's stellar reputation. We simply want to frolic within the hysterical realm of the freakin' sweet madness created by Mr. Seth MacFarlane,” states the comedian on his blog.

Seems that Fox doesn’t want anyone else getting a piece of the pie now that the show is lucrative.

Naked Gun 44 1/4 - Nordberg gets The Chair

O.J. Simpson is no longer looking for the real killer, having come to the same conclusion we have all come to – he did it. Of course seeing as he has been found not guilty of murder, the former actor (and football player, so I’m told) has had to find another way to confess.

In If I Did It, Here's How It Happened, O.J. “tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," said a statement from Fox, describing an interview with The Juice at the end of the month. The book will be followed by the publication of a similarly titled book, proving conclusively there is no such thing as bad publicity.

I’m not easily shocked, but this is just twisted. If, as he has so often claimed, he is innocent, why would he possible want to imagine himself as the killer? If he did kill his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman (but the glove didn’t fit!) than this a disturbingly cynical attempt to profit from a crime. Back off O.J., that’s Hollywood’s job.

I suppose that I shouldn’t be surprised that someone is willing to publish and air this nonsense, but I suppose there’s a buck to be made. Next up on Fox – When Killers Attack! followed by World’s Slowest Police Chases.

Is There Life In Arrested?

‘Ere, he says he's not dead.
Yes he is.
I'm not.

More evidence that Arrested Development hasn’t breathed its last breath. The New York Post’s Page Six said that U.S. network Showtime has not only picked up the (unofficially) canceled show but also ordered 26 more episodes. Meanwhile TV Squad has dug around a bit that they are just in negotiations – which is still better than being D.O.A.

So the question is, should it be allowed to enter the realm called Too Good For TV? It was a fantastic show and had three seasons of brilliance. Is it time to leave well enough alone?

Nah. Let’s have some more, stat! Sure there’s a worry that a show will survive beyond its time but there is no evidence that Arrested is anywhere near jumping the proverbial shark.

Arrested Development Goes Out Crazy

Arrested DevelopmentBye, bye Bluths. The season and quite likely series finished up last night like they started – fast-paced, quick-witted and outrageous to the end.

It was billed only as the season finale, and Fox hasn’t officially cancelled the comedy, but the chances of the show cheating an early TV death are slim. What seems certain is its time on Fox has come to an end. The network burned off the last four episodes, back-to-back against the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, making room on its usual Monday slot for the inane Skating with Celebrities. Clearly there’s not much love lost.

While there is a glimmer of hope that Arrested Development could be revived on the U.S. cable network Showtime or, even less likely, on ABC, it appears destined to top the list of shows cancelled before its time, including Action, My So Called Life, Andy Richter Controls the Universe, Futurama, Sports Night, among others.

I’m not doing well this season, as the networks keep shelving my favourites. Fox has put Prison Break in solitary confinement for so long I don’t know if I’ll recognize it when it gets out. Invasion is being put on the sidelines during March, just as the tension is building up to a fever pitch – there’s nothing like a month-long break to cool off a hot show. While Commander in Chief has not been must-see TV for me, I watched it whenever I came across it, but now that it is also in purgatory its ratings decline will likely become a self-fulfilling prophecy for the network.

Its not just semi-established shows that are suffering the vagaries of network programmers. Love Monkey, starring Canadians Tom Cavanagh and Jason Priestly, has been caged after just three episodes. I didn’t even get a chance to see it, let alone have time to cast judgment on it. Thee episodes! How do you build an audience in that time? I’d already had one friend tell me to check it out, perhaps indicating that there was word-of-mouth buzz growing, and it was even averaging 8.1 million viewers an episode, almost twice what Arrested was getting this season. There is just no patience anymore.

Fox Giveth and Fox Taketh Away

We love ya Bender. He knows it.There may be a future for Futurama. Fox is reportedly in talks to bring the Matt Groening animated series back to TV, after its success on DVD and reruns.

Shades of the Griffins! Fox performed a similar resurrection on Family Guy in 2004, which they had killed off before its time. I always felt that Futurama was more deserving of a return and was a show that had been shuffled around, preempted and never allowed to find its audience.

Seems like the execs at Fox aren't above making complete u-turns on their programming decisions, so it really makes me wonder about Arrested Development. It has a cult following, is selling well on DVD and critics love it. Naturally, it is slated for cancellation. Perhaps it is a strange marketing plan to sell more DVDs and get tons of free ink, before bringing the show back.

I've never understood Fox. They program such trash, but they have also launched (and cancelled) more cutting edge comedies then most of the other networks combined -- Action and Andy Richter Controls the Universe, but to name two. Maybe they should put the people who develop the shows into the scheduling department.

Anyway, if Futurama can come back after a couple of years off the air, perhaps there is a chance for Arrested as well. Save Our Bluths!
