R2DJ Drops Robot Beats

Bidi-bidi-bidi. Warning, warning, danger, danger! Eclectic Method brings their mixing wizardry to our favourite buckets of bolts, including R2-D2 and C-3PO, Twiki, Johnny 5, WALL-E and EVE, Teddy, Robby the Robot, B9 and my personal favourite Marvin the Paranoid Android. Could have used some Bender though. (Link via Neatogeek)

Deck Them Halls And All That Stuff

Eclectic Method - Haul The Decks 2009 from Eclectic Method on Vimeo.

Time for the 12 Days of Popped Culture Christmas. And before anyone gets all liturgical on me, I know it relates to the 12 days after Christmas, but that's not how anyone thinks of it.

Anyway, this is Eclectic Method's remix of dozens of Christmas specials, which will either get you all nostalgic or give you a seizure.

And for those of you reading via RSS, Facebook or whathaveyou, come check out the site today — we've spent the weekend moving the furniture around.

If He Gets Up, We'll All Get Up. It'll Be Anarchy!

From the brilliant remixers Eclectic Method comes a fabulous mashup tribute to John Hughes. Yes, I know he died two weeks ago, but this is far too cool.

And, in coming across this mix at Clandestine I further discovered that Eclectic Method will be headlining the closing party for the Toronto International Film Festival, playing on massive LED screens in Yonge-Dundas Square on September 19. Sweet! No further details, but I assume the show will be free as it is a public square.

Alright, stating to get excited for the festival, even if I'll only get to see five films this year.

Everybody Be Cool - The Tarantino Mixtape

Eclectic Method - The Tarantino Mixtape from Eclectic Method on Vimeo.

The Eclectic Method re-cuts and remixes Quentin Tarantino's films and soundtracks until they have created a unique audio-visual mashup.

It's a tour de force that manages to out-Tarantino Tarantino and they should be hired to make the trailer for the inevitable box set. Which is exactly what this video made me want to do — hunker down for a marathon of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Kill Bill I & II.

You've gotta admit, the man's got style to spare and can make a mixtape second to none. So hang on in the beginning, it picks up steam. (Link via Media-Digest)
