I love women and equality and don't subscribe to  'barefoot and pregnant' thinking but the eternal wars and militarization of every aspect of this country have gone too far.

Yeah baby, you've come a long way. Step right up to the front lines of kill and be killed. Leave your babies at home because it's all for their freedom.

Don't think twice it's alright.

Whatever happened to women as nurturers of peace? Lost in the fog of contrived feminism? No matter how insane, equality must be taken to the extreme? Being a duped pawn of the masters of war and going toe to toe with the 'enemy'  is not just for young men anymore. Here's your chance. Pull that trigger. Killing is thrilling.


The social manipulator lefties of Ms. Magazine and Huffpost love the idea of women in combat. The fixated on death righties mostly just love killing no matter who does it.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Women, who make up some 14 percent of the armed forces, should finally be permitted to serve fully in front-line combat units, a military advisory panel says.

The call by a commission of current and retired military officers to dismantle the last major area of discrimination in the armed services could set in motion another sea change in military culture as the armed forces, generations after racial barriers fell, grapples with the phasing out of the ban on gays serving openly.

It is time "to create a level playing field for all qualified service members," the members said Friday.

Please ladies, speak out. There's a place for you ...  on the front lines for peace.



Anti-war songs, unfortunately, have never gone out of style for some of us.

Maybe all soldiers need to go AWOL for mental health reasons?

I don't know the motivations or mental state of this 30 year old Ft. Campbell soldier but he may be on to something.

Refusing to re-deploy to Afghanistan and checking himself into a mental health treatment program is the best thing this young man can do for himself, his wife and two kids. He needs a little gentle deprogramming if he hasn't done that himself already. He deserves a chance to live as normal a life as possible.

After all, he was manipulated into 'volunteering.' His training included a form of mind control. Who knows what he saw and learned and physically encountered in his first tour of Afghanistan? Maybe he found out that everything he knew was wrong and wants no more of the lies? Maybe he just needs a little help in separating himself from the madness?


There was a time when we called AWOL "another week of life."  It's still the same today. Refusing to deploy or better yet not volunteering ... it's he healthiest thing a young man or woman can do.

FT. CAMPBELL, Tenn. – The wife of a formerly AWOL Ft. Campbell soldier who was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan said her husband has entered a mental health treatment program instead.

Spc. Jeff Hanks went AWOL during his mid-tour leave from Afghanistan last year and turned himself in on Veterans Day.

The 30-year-old soldier complained about the lack of treatment by the Army for his behavioral health issues he said stemmed from previous deployments and a concussion suffered in Afghanistan.

His command ordered him to return to Afghanistan to finish out his deployment, but his wife Christina Hanks said Tuesday that he is now staying at Cumberland Hall, a residential treatment program in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Ft. Campbell spokesman Rick Rzepka confirmed Hanks will not deploy immediately, but would not discuss his case due to privacy rules.

Hanks' case has been taken up by supporters from the group Iraq Veterans Against the War, who were with Hanks during a press conference outside the installation's gates last November when he turned himself in.

Afghan Jukebox Replays the Same Song Over and Over

It was only a month ago that a local kid, a Marine 21 years old, died in Afghanistan with an ingredient of the story being how he was affected by 9/11 and always wanted to be a soldier and avenge a wrong.

A child falling for lies can be excused, the system stacks the deck by pushing the lies endlessly, but what of those around them who blindly follow the deceptions and in essence issues a death sentence for their loved ones by not stopping them from joining the military and being used as a expendable pawn.

Christiana TN Marine Pfc. Vincent E. Gammone, III, was killed Saturday in Afghanistan after a prisoner being transported by Marines attempted to escape a convoy, shooting and killing Gammone and at least one other Marine in the process.

Gammone would have celebrated his 20th birthday Tuesday, according to his fiancee, Jessica West.

"We were told that Vincent was one of the first to go to the aid of another Marine who had been wounded by the escaped prisoner, who was able to arm himself during his attempted escape,"

A New Yorker by birth, Gammone moved to Tennessee with his family when he was 2 years old, according to West.

When terrorist cells hijacked planes and flew them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 — West remembered Gammone became infuriated and his passion to join the military became stronger. {more}

The infuriated passion of an 11 year old that he could never overcome. One who never got to legally walk into one of the fine local establishments and just have a beer. Or know the ups and downs of marriage, parenthood and a million other things he could have experienced had only those around him took him aside and said convincingly and forcefully if necessary, "It's all a lie."

Too Fat to Fight

The military once again uses their assets in the media to issue another national security warning.

No, this time it's not al-Qaeda or homegrown extremists. It's fat kids. And kids that are dumb and criminal.

At least 9 million Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are too fat and unfit to serve in the military, says "Too Fat to Fight," a report being released today by Mission: Readiness, a group of retired military leaders. 

The new report follows findings from the senior military leaders group that 75 percent of adults in that age range are unqualified to serve in the armed forces because they lack the physical conditioning, don't have high school diplomas, or have criminal records. 

On Monday, one of the organization's members, retired Maj. Gen. Wesley E. Craig, said early childhood education {war propaganda} was important to national security. 

Speaking before several hundred educators and business leaders at a forum on early education in Harrisburg, Craig said, "Our national security in 2030 is heavily dependent on the boys and girls in preschool and kindergarten right now." 

"I'm here to say that if we don't take action soon, it's going to get harder to recruit qualified people to serve," said Craig, a former commander of the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. 

Being overweight or obese is the leading medical reason applicants fail to qualify for military service, "Too Fat to Fight" states.

"Every month, hundreds of otherwise excellent candidates for military service are turned away by recruiters because of weight problems," retired Army Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in the report. 

Since 1995, the proportion of recruits who failed their physical exams because they were overweight has risen by nearly 70 percent, the report says. {more}

Wars without end require planning and the kindergartner of today is the killer of tomorrow. How can a fat fighter chase the terrorists up and down the mountains of Afghanistan? Occupations of foreign lands is no place for the obese.

Now we all cringe every time we see a 200 lb. 12 year old chase down his Big Mac with a Mountain Dew. It's a sure sign that the corporate jingles have been successful. The health care costs of childhood obesity are bad enough and how do parents afford new upsized clothes every few months?

But I'm thinking that the military is overreacting. New technology can overcome the lack of slim bodies to kill civilians and women and children.

It's Never Enough

Roll over congress ... the war machine needs more money. Everyone is up in arms about 'health care' but few break a sweat over the continuing fraud of 'death care' and the agenda of permanent war.

The Pentagon wants $33 billion in additional funding to pay for the war in Afghanistan this year and train the Afghan military, the Christian Science Monitor reports. Defense Secretary Gates and Secretary of State Clinton appeared before Senate appropriators to defend the war supplemental, which is on top of the $708 billion baseline budget submitted to Congress in February. Most of the war supplemental will pay for Afghanistan operations. $2.6 billion is to train the Afghan national security force. “The question is, how long is that going to have to continue to the point where we can kind of say we’ve done our thing,” asked Sen. George Voinovich (R) of Ohio. “Five years, ten years, 15 years?” “We are in this intense phase that will be several years,” Clinton said. “Obviously, I don’t know that either of us could put a timeline on it.”

David Petraeus, the current military spokesman for permanent war, came to Vanderbilt University on March 1 to sell the economic, moral and ethical destruction of the U.S. with  neverending conflict. Insanity and psychopathy are two terms that come to mind.

"We have to remember why we are in Afghanistan. That is because that's where the 911 attacks were planned," said Petraeus.



Petraeus described himself as a 'realist'  for the war machine.

"I think if one is realistic, you have to realize that we have to remain engaged in these various endeavors."

"I think Afghanistan is going to be the longest campaign in the long war."

 Destroy a nation and build it back as a servant of American imperialism is still the same message.

"It’s a fact that the U.S. military is in the nation-building business in the Middle East."

“A good outcome in Iraq would be an Iraq in which there is a government that is representative of all the people, that is responsive and responsible to all the people,” Petraeus said. It would also be able to provide its own security and basic services like education, electricity and fresh water, he said.

"Of course you have to oversee the implementation of the big ideas.”

Petraeus gives a hint of how the military is 'concerned' about the freedom of the internet.

“Cyberspace is a battlefield. People are out there competing – they are fighting in cyberspace. It’s a battle of ideas; people are proselytizing.”

Petraeus says political and military leaders are wrestling with how to crack down on terrorist cyber-recruitment, while balancing it with the right to free speech.

Questions, supposedly from students, at the Vanderbilt propaganda forum didn't include any on military protection of the world's largest dope crop and the CIA involvement in the trade. Civilian deaths from 'mistakes' were also off limits.

Contrary to popular opinion, not all folks in Tennessee march lockstep to militarism. A few got their point across.








In what could be said to be a challenge to Petraeus and the lies of war, Stephen Lendman in America's Permanent War Agenda says:

America glorifies wars in the name of peace, what historian Charles Beard (1874 - 1948) called "perpetual war for perpetual peace" in describing the Roosevelt and Truman administrations' foreign policies - what concerned the Federation of American Scientists when it catalogued about 200 post-1945 conflicts in which America was, and still is, the aggressor.

Historian Gore Vidal used Beard's phrase in titling his 2002 book, "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace" and saying:

"our rulers for more than half a century have made sure that we are never to be told the truth about anything that our government has done to other people, not to mention our own."

America's Permanent War Economy:

"at the start of the twenty-first century, every major aspect of American life is being shaped by our Permanent War Economy."  The horrific toll:

-- a de-industrialized nation, the result of decades of shifting production abroad leaving unions and communities "decimated;"

-- government financing and promoting "every kind of war industry and foreign investing by US firms;" war priorities take precedence over essential homeland needs;

-- America's "Permanent War Economy....has endured since the end of World War II....Since then the US has been at war - somewhere - every year, in Korea, Nicaragua, Vietnam, the Balkans, Afghanistan - all this to the accompaniment of shorter military forays in Africa, Chile, Grenada, Panama," and increasingly at home against its own people;

-- "how to make war" takes precedence over everything leaving no "public space....on how to improve the quality of our lives;"

-- "Shortages of housing have caused a swelling of the homeless population in every major city (because) State and city governments across the country have become trained to bend to the needs of the military....;" the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) currently estimates over 21,000 are on city streets nightly, and during winter months it's dangerous;

-- the result is a nation of growing millions of poor, disadvantaged, uneducated, and "disconnected from society's mainstream, restless and unhappy, frustrated, angry, and sad;"

"State Capitalism" characterizes America's government - business partnership running a war economy for greater power and wealth at the expense of a nation in decline, corrupted leadership, lost industrialization, crumbling infrastructure, and suffering millions on their own, uncared for, unwanted, ignored, and forgotten.

James Petras and others have said behind every imperial war is a great lie, the more often repeated the more likely to be believed because ordinary people want peace, not conflict, so it's vital to convince them.

Long before 9/11, Middle East restructuring plans were based on bogus terrorist, rogue state, and "clash of civilizations" threats by hordes of Islamofascists, including the Palestinian resistance, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Saddam Hussein targeted in the 1990 - 91 Gulf War, followed by years of devastating sanctions, then ousted by GW Bush in 2003.

Iraq was destroyed, occupied and balkanized. Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran face similar threats, the common thread being dominating Eurasia through endless conflicts and increased military spending for war profiteering bounties. September 11 assured it.

As a candidate, Obama campaigned against imperial militarism, promised limited escalation only, and pledged to remove all combat troops from Iraq by August 31, 2010. That was then. This is now, and consider what he has in mind - the permanent occupation of Iraq, Afghanistan and more.

Besides the Afghan escalation, he's also destabilizing Pakistan to balkanize both countries, weakening them to control the Caspian Sea's oil and gas riches and their energy routes to secured ports for export. The strategy includes encircling Russia, China, and Iran, obstructing their solidarity and cohesion, defusing a feared geopolitical alliance, weakening the Iranian government, perhaps attacking its nuclear sites, eliminating Israel's main regional rival, and securing unchallenged Eurasian dominance over this resource rich part of the world that includes China, Russia, the Middle East, and Indian subcontinent.

Like George Bush, Obama plans permanent war and more military spending than all other nations combined at a time America has no enemies. He promised change and betrayed us. Grassroots activism must stop this madness and make America a nation again to be proud of. The alternative is too grim to imagine.

Admiral Mullen at Fort Campbell: We're losing and casualties will increase

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has his wish with the surge in Afghanistan and traveled to Fort Campbell Monday to 'encourage' the 101st airborne before some of them die and some are maimed.


"We live in a time of change, and you are a group, by and large, headed to Afghanistan," he said.

"For those of you who have been there before, when you go back it will be different," he said. "Don't just assume because you've had a tour there, it will be the same."

"We are clearly not winning right now, which means we're losing," he said.

Not only is the U.S. losing the war, he said casualties will increase as more troops flood into the region.

"I am sure that we will sustain a level of casualties. I don't want to be in any way unclear about that," Mullen said.

Suicide, which has hit Fort Campbell harder than most installations this year, also is a "vexing issue," Mullen said.

"What is clear now is the pressure of these wars and these deployments have ratcheted up the suicide rate, and we must figure out a way to make it go down," he said.

Mullen said a lot of the responsibility to reduce the suicide rate will fall on the shoulders of young leaders, who can better identify fellow soldiers who might be experiencing depression or suicidal behavior.

"We all have an obligation to do that," Mullen said. {more}

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 12/8/09 -- Police are now saying that two men found shot to death in a Clarksville apartment were a Fort Campbell soldier and his father and they are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Clarksville police found the bodies Sunday inside an apartment near the gates of the post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. According to a police statement, there were no signs of forced entry into the home.

The Leaf Chronicle reported that police have identified the victims as 22-year-old Emanuel Joseph Bluebird and his father, 51-year-old Norman Bluebird.

Kelly Tyler, a spokeswoman for Fort Campbell, said the younger Bluebird was a soldier stationed there.

The Pentagon cult of death will require many more ritualistic sacrifices.

The American count will soon increase. 13 dead in Texas is a small number compared to what is to come. Especially when Obama increases the troops. It means more targets.....

Parades, ceremonies and speeches give a focus to the individuals who fight, sacrifice and die while diverting attention away from those who mold the policies of war and who use the soldiers as pawns of profit.

Why Die in Afghanistan?

If every soldier asked that one question and refused to deploy when not receiving a satisfactory answer it would be a way to end the war. Of course that would require thinking soldiers and outside of being taught to think in the killing fields, thinking in political terms is not a part of their job description.

The most honest answer the military could give to the question of 'Why Die in Afghanistan?' would be "because we tell you to."


Gary Wills - I am told by people I respect that Barack Obama cannot pull out of both Iraq and Afghanistan without becoming a one-term president. I think that may be true. The charges from various quarters would be toxic—that he was weak, unpatriotic, sacrificing the sacrifices that have been made, betraying our dead, throwing away all former investments in lives and treasure. All that would indeed be brought against him, and he could have little defense in the quarters where such charges would originate.

These are the arguments that have kept us in losing efforts before. They are the ones that made presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon pass on to their successors in the presidency the draining and self-lacerating Vietnam War. They are the arguments that made President George W. Bush pass on two wars to his successor.

One of the strongest arguments for continued firing up of these wars is that none of these presidents wanted to serve only one term (even Lyndon Johnson, who chose not to run for a second full term). But what justification is there for buying a second presidential term with the lives of hundreds or thousands of young American men and women in the military? {more}

It’s the number 90,591 [.pdf].

As of Oct. 15, that’s how many American casualties there were in Iraq and Afghanistan since Oct. 7, 2001, when the Afghan war officially began. That includes a tire-screeching 74,782 dead, wounded-in-action, and medically evacuated due to illness, disease, or injury in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and 15,809 and counting in Afghanistan, or Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

That it may sound incredible – even unreal – is understandable. Early attempts to effectively count casualties (outside of battlefield fatalities) had been in earnest, then erratic, but finally dead-ended, frustrated by the Department of Defense, which has always been loath to break down and publicize the data on a regular basis.

One stalwart has always been Veterans for Common Sense (VCS), a nonprofit advocacy group dedicated to advancing the health and readjustment of returning soldiers and veterans. They’ve been diligently aggregating the statistics over time, and thanks to their diligent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, they can provide casualty reports at a level of detail not currently seen on the DOD’s publicly accessible Web site, DefenseLink.mil.

If we could access the data more easily, more people would know that 196 servicemembers took their own lives while serving in Iraq between March 2003 and Oct. 3, 2009, and there were 34 such suicides in Afghanistan. (These figures, of course, do not include the skyrocketing cases of suicides among all active-duty soldiers and veterans and cases of self-inflicted injury outside both war zones.)

More people would also know that 48,552 servicemembers had to be medically evacuated from the battlefield due to hostile and non-hostile injury, disease, and other medical issues since the beginning of the Iraq War [.pdf]. As of early October, 10,748 were evacuated for the same reasons from the war zone in Afghanistan [.pdf].

No one should be surprised, then, to hear that some 454,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans have already sought medical care from the Veterans Administration (VA) when they came home. That’s 40 percent of the total OIF/OEF veteran population, which is a number that is of course in flux, considering that the war has no end and veterans have five years to apply for care after the end of their service. {more}


John O'Neill - The Wall Street Journal reported Nov. 3, two days before the Fort Hood shootings, that 16 U.S. soldiers killed themselves in October -- "an unusually high monthly toll that is fueling concerns about the mental health of the nation's military personnel . . . ."

The sad and most frustrating aspect of the Fort Hood shootings is that we, as a nation, cannot overcome the indoctrinations of a lifetime. Believe what the government says, believe what the media tells us...they wouldn't lie.

9/11 was the biggest lie. Getting away with that lie led to Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond. Kids who can't question, who can't apply reason and critical thinking join up to fight the manufactured 'enemy' and who die without ever knowing it was in vain. The families cry and mourn for the rest of their lives and most refuse to face the truth...it was all for lies.

Soldier's mom says slain daughter Amy Krueger signed up to serve day after Sept. 11, 2001

Three years removed from high school, Amy Krueger was in an Army Reserve recruiting office the day after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, signing up to serve her country.

At the time, Jeri Krueger told her daughter she would not be able to take on Osama bin Laden by herself.

On Friday, Jeri Krueger recalled her daughter’s response: “Watch me.”

Amy Krueger served three months in Afghanistan in 2003. As a reservist for eight years, she rose to the rank of staff sergeant and handled everything the Army threw her way.

As recently as Tuesday she called her mother, Jeri, to report her safe arrival at Fort Hood, Texas, where she was to receive her final training before active-duty deployment to Afghanistan next month.

 On Thursday, her training, plans and life ended on the huge military base at the hands of a fellow soldier who shot more than 40 people. Krueger, 29, was among 13 killed in the assault by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, who also was scheduled for deployment to Afghanistan in December. {more}

No matter what the truth of the Ft. Hood shooting is, it will immediately have the effect of silencing the growing anti-war movement within the military...at least for awhile.

There have been many reports of soldiers of conscience openly speaking out against the lies of the current wars and refusing deployment. The shooting may force them to go underground or to just shut up.

Lt. General Cone says in this video "The stories from these young soldiers...and I really hope we can can get them in the media here fairly quickly are really remarkable...reports unconfirmed that he was saying  Allahu Akbar...the descriptions of the weapons is that they are not military issued weapons..."

ABC News is touting this video as an 'eyewitness account' but it is second hand.

The chaos of the situation will distort perceptions and it's unlikely that anyone will be allowed before the cameras without being intensively briefed beforehand.

Early accounts of multiple shooters are now well covered with the false reports that Hasan was killed.

Will they announce and show what exactly the non military issued weapons used were and the size and number of the magazines?

Today’s tragic shooting and killing at Fort Hood army base in Texas, which has claimed the lives of at least 12 people, occurred on November 5. According to ABC the suspected gunman in Fort Hood is a convert to Islam by the name Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

Today’s date is the same as the date of the Guy Fawkes plot of 1605, when a Catholic dissident who had been previously served as a soldier tried to blow up the English Parliament in order to kill the Protestants inside. Guy Fawkes is a favorite among anarchists. (He was celebrated in the comic and film V for Vendetta). {source True/Slant}

The gun battle was apparently swift. Cone said the shooter used two handguns. It was unclear, the general said, whether he had a chance to reload before he was hit by return fire.

My friends in the military and all the services at all places; do not lash out at your friends and neighbors. Go after the real malefactors. I don’t encourage this because the avatar is coming and he is going to handle that but… if you are that desperate then make it count. You should understand where the orders are coming from. You should know who the representatives of Satan are. Look for who is wining and dining and laughing at you. Do not kill your brothers. You will have to live with this if you do so do not do it.

Soldiers I cannot tell you what to do but I know how angry you are. If you can’t contain it do not turn it on your fellows. I suspect this was engineered but what do I know?

"We always come back" is correct. Back with more killing for profit and Israel but never back with any truth about what happened on 9/11.
