In Full Bloom

Basak Savcigil
The Sideshow Group Exhibition

What a month! Even the best fiction writers could not come up with the scenarios we have seen and maintain any kind of believability.  But this is America and truth is in short supply. Big lies, little lies, multiple lies ... we take them in stride and move on. I've been looking for some local folks who are as outraged as I am but can't seem to find them. Silence is the rule. If we don't talk about what is actually going on then the problems must not exist. We 'got' Bin Laden so we're making progress is the common theme.

It's springtime and the "Idiocracy" of America is in full bloom. We are the sideshow exhibits and those who have the power of life and death gawk at us in amused scorn at just how stupid and gullible we actually are.

Not everyone is a gullible idiot of course but being a 'truther' minority means in this case we are always going to be discriminated against and made to look foolish by not conforming to the prevailing deceptions. Being put in a jar of formaldehyde and preserved as an example of what happens to those who don't love their slavery may not be that far off an image.

My grandson had a sort of  rite of passage last night, the high school prom. In his case it was where you pay $100 to rent a tux, $20 for the girl's small corsage and they didn't even get to have a live band, just the same old music industry promoted pop and country music that they hear daily on the radio. He had fun but it's over quickly, unlike another rite of passage that seems to go on and on ... the military recruiter. These lying pricks are allowed in the schools and pound on a young kid's head how it will make them a man and gain 'experience' along with some vague monetary incentives. What should be a no-brainer "Just Say No" or "Go Fuck Yourself" response to the death merchant too often turns into a "Sure, why not, I can't get a job anyway and you did say killing a few 'Mooslums' is our patriotic duty."

Just this morning I heard of a young Nashville Marine who was killed in Afghanistan and the lead line in the story was that he was doing what he was born to do. What? He was born to die in a foreign land in an illegal immoral war for the profit of bankers and war contractors? Born to be a pawn, yep, every kid's dream.

In other 'big' local news, Geert Wilders came to Nashville to stir the hatred and every fear mongering crazed neocon quack and Christian zionist whack job came out of the woodwork to praise this outside agitator and possible CIA/Mossad asset. Three days after his speech at a 'church' and the media is still going on about him but nary a peep from the presstitutes about the May 15 Nakba Day or the fraud of the 'jewish' state of Israel, without which, along with a few other zionist 'events' such as 9/11, the Islamophobia narrative would not even be taking place.

But maybe there is some good news. The managing director of the International Monetary Fund and expected Socialist candidate for the French presidency in 2012, jewish Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been arrested in New York  in the sexual attack of a maid at a Midtown Manhattan hotel. A criminal organization, the IMF, being run by a sexual criminal ... who could have guessed?  Big money will probably get this creep off.  After all, raping entire nations is his job and he gets by with that.

In another bit of good news, Israel firster and would be traitor Mike Huckabee has said no to running for president. I suppose he realized that even in America there aren't enough Republican fools to get him elected or maybe he didn't want to be the designated loser this time around.

Although we like Ron Paul's anti-federal reserve, non-intervention, anti-war, bring the troops home stance and without him that message will not be heard at all in the upcoming presidential cycle, he was disappointing in the minutes after his announcement yesterday when he just had to use the words holocaust and Nazis in response to some question by a shill reporter. He also can't get past the rhetoric of 'blowback' and that Bin Laden and arabs did 9/11. Paul is blasted by the left, the right and the middle and if you're going down, why not go down swinging with everything you've got. I'm stubborn. 9/11 is a root cause of the fascist downfall of this country and if one cannot speak the truth about it at least concerning what we do know and call for the real criminals to be brought to justice, it's hard to give them full support. Paul is playing within the system and as we all know ... the system is a failure for most of us and it cannot be changed by playing by the rules of those who have rigged the game.

Water, Water Everywhere

We don't seem to get much of a break. Here comes the rain again keeps running through my head.

Just for the sake of speculation let's travel down a watery road.
From Roadside Mystic:

Soil liquefaction describes a phenomenon whereby a saturated soil substantially loses strength and stiffness in response to an applied stress, usually earthquake shaking or other sudden change in stress condition, causing it to behave like a liquid.

Tons of RAIN from the recent tragic and freakish Tornado outbreaks in the south  fell largely over the New Madrid Fault Region. The Flood Risk Remains very high. The soggy ground makes it easier for the ground in this area to liquefy and become like quicksand . Triggering a New Madrid major earthquake in this environment will be beyond bad. If  Tornadoes can shut down the Nuclear Reactors in Northern Alabama what can the New Madrid erupting do to All of the Nuclear reactors in the area?

And  FEMA is preparing with the largest earthquake drill ever....

New Madrid Drill Coinciding With Levee About To Be Blown?

Word has reached us that federal judge Stephen Limbaugh (yes, Rush Limbaugh’s cousin) in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri has issued his ruling that a segment of the levee holding back the Mississippi River on the Missouri side (near the little town of New Madrid, where our big Midwestern earthquake fault line is named after) can be dynamited by the Corps of Engineers to alleviate upriver flooding. more

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - As of early Sunday morning, the Army Corps of Engineers has not yet made a decision on whether or not to purposefully flood 130,000 acres of land in Mississippi and New Madrid Counties to relieve stress on strained levees. more

A rural Missouri county was evacuating residents on Wednesday from a 130,000-acre area that will be flooded if the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decides to blow up a Mississippi River levee.   Missouri claims demolition of the levee would damage the farmland, leaving a layer of silt that would take a generation to clear. But Cairo's mayor believes the Corps must act to save lives.
"The city of Cairo is on the verge of being the next 9th Ward of New Orleans," said Mayor Judson Childs in a statement, referring to an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He said the city is 70 percent African-American with a large population of senior citizens, most with "nowhere to go and no way to get there."

A law enacted in 1928 allows the Corps to blow up the levee if the Mississippi River reaches a certain level -- 58 feet at Cairo with the prediction to rise to 61 feet, according to the Corps.

But Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster believes the law is "unclear" as to whether the Corps actually has the authority to make the decision to detonate.

"There are no 'good' options at this juncture." more

Clowns

At the Copenhagen Climate Summit ...

“The climate change adaptation fund has to be created by mandatory contribution of developed countries as over and above their usual overseas development assistance fund.”

In Israel ...

Only weeks after pledging a 10 months settlements freeze, Israel has just approved today listing some Jewish settlements in the West Bank as “national priority zones”. This is yet another example of the Netanyahu administration double talk on the issue which is the biggest stumbling block for peace in the Middle-East.
Today’s decision by the Israeli cabinet to list the Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank will entitle the communities in question to 41 million dollars in extra state funding.

The new funding will benefit 110,000 Jewish settlers.

Chosen Nukes

Saturday, 30 May 2009... Israel Shamir

The struggle for Korean nuclear independence is extremely relevant for the Middle East, and first of all, for the Iranian nuclear project. The Judeo-American interests want to turn North Korea into an example for Iran. They wish to do something nasty to not-too-relevant Korea so that Iran will fall in line. But a nuclear Iran is likely to check Israeli warmongers and force Israel to proceed with peace process. The balance of fear, or MAD (mutual assured destruction) is still the only way to deal with the Israeli-American threat.

Fry and Laurie (or Laurel and Hardy) could do it nicely:

- The Chosen have got nukes. They've gone nuclear!

- Well, is that news? Israel has had hundreds of nuclear bombs for some twenty years, according to Vanunu, but only antisemites ever mention it.

- Sorry, I did not mean the Chosen People, I mean the People of the Chosen, and “Chosen” is the Korean name for North Korea.

- The Chosen? How dare they challenge the international community! Where do these Chosen men get off thinking that they are chosen?

The successful underground nuclear test in North Korea unleashed a huge wave – a wave of hypocrisy, that is. The state with by far the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, the country that has already used A-bombs against civilians, the US, expressed its outrage. U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice said, “The United States thinks that this is a grave violation of international law and a threat to regional and international peace and security and therefore the United States will seek a strong resolution with strong measures.” According to Rice, it is not invasion, it is not occupation, it is not aggression, but rather it is arming oneself against a very probable invasion, aggression and occupation that violates international law. And she did not remind us of a well-forgotten fact: for many years it was North Korea that called for turning the whole of Korean peninsula into nuclear-weapons-free zone, and it was the US that insisted on having its nukes on North Korea’s doorstep.

North Korea, or the Chosen in its own language, is a country of indomitable men and women. They are strong, independent and hard-working. They shake hands with an iron grip. Their names are short, their cabbage is fiery, their national pride knows no limits – and for good reason: they fought against the US in its prime, and survived the worst onslaught ever engineered by Man. Think Dresden, multiply by Gaza and add Iraq to equal Korea in the 1950s. The US and its satellites dropped more bombs on this small mountainous country than they had dropped on Germany. General Douglas Macarthur wanted to nuke them, but Harry Truman stopped him: there were no objects worth nuking, for every single standing man-made structure had already been destroyed. The Korean War was mass murder writ large: millions of Koreans were killed, burned by napalm, shot and executed by the Americans and their allies. Any Korean village's death rate could compete with that of Auschwitz.

The Koreans survived and rebuilt their country. But the massive bombing took a heavy toll on the people’s psyche. A nation will never be the same after saturation bombing, any more than will an individual who has been gang raped. Usually they break down into total submission for a generation (that is why gang rape is the prisoners’ way to assume control over a disobedient inmate), so did Serbs, so did Germans, so did the Japanese after being sodomised by US bombs. The Koreans’ own post-traumatic syndrome consisted of withdrawal, extreme self-reliance and endless fear of another attack. This fear was well-grounded in reality: US troops and bases still occupy the south of the Korean peninsula. South Korea is still as far from independence as it was before the WWII, only the US has replaced Japan as the colonizing power.
