Hugh O’Donnell, Liberal Democrat Member of the Scottish Parliament for Central Scotland, says the Liberal Democrat leadership is “neither Liberal nor Democratic”.

He has quit the party and will stand as an independent in the coming elections in Scotland.

All three, in a letter of 4 May 2010, to the Times, have attacked the UK Liberal Democrat Party.

Lib Dems and national security

They write:

"We are concerned that the Liberal Democrats make no mention of Nato in their manifesto.

"Almost every reference to the United States is accompanied by a call for a much more distant relationship - and this includes the Obama Administration.

"An enhanced European defence and security posture, however welcome, cannot substitute for American power.

"The Liberal Democrats’ leadership have adopted a wide range of positions on whether, and when, they would withdraw our servicemen from Afghanistan...

"The Liberal Democrats ... pre-emptively rule out military action against Iran...

"Several senior Liberal Democrat frontbenchers have indicated that they might want to scrap the United Kingdom’s nuclear deterrent altogether...

"The Liberal Democrats are seemingly willing to expose our intelligence and security services to relentless inquiry and investigation...

"The Liberal Democrats' unilateral abandonment of control orders, with nothing to replace them, would leave the United Kingdom exposed..."

So, the Liberal Democrats may be worth voting for in constituencies where they have a chance of beating the spooky Labour Party or the spooky Conservative Party.

The party with the most sensible policies on defence is the Scottish National Party.

A Labour - Liberal Democrat alliance would support:

1. The war in Afghanistan.

2. Further immigration.

3. Further European Union integration.

The Scottish National Party opposes the war in Afghanistan, so it is being attacked by the media.

In 2005, Gaby Hinsliff and Ned Temko, in the Observer.l, listed the members of David Cameron's inner circle, which included:

1. George Eustice, who started his political career with the UK Independence Party (which is reportedly pro-Israel and pro-Pentagon.)

2. Oliver Letwin, who has links to the Rothschilds.

3. Michael Gove, who is an admirer of the American neo-cons.

4. Daniel Finkelstein, who is a Times journalist.

Jeremy Thorpe was leader of the Liberal Party (which became the Liberal Democrats). His political career was damaged when an acquaintance, Norman Scott, claimed to be his former homosexual lover, and ended when he was charged with conspiring to murder Scott (Jeremy Thorpe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

If someone wants to start a war, the Liberals are the people to lend a hand.

Sir Edward Grey was the UK foreign Secretary in the Liberal government in Britain in 1914.

Tarpley claims that Grey used ‘perfidy and cunning’ to bring about a world war after the assassination of the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungar Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914 in Sarajevo, Bosnia.

According to Tarpley, if Sir Edward Grey had wanted to avoid war, he could have warned France and Russia that Britain would remain neutral.

Russia was unlikely to go to war without the support of Britain.

The Kaiser apparently thought that if England did not fight, France and Russia were unlikely to do so either.

Tarpley claims that Grey gave France hints that England would support Russia and France.

These hints were then passed on to Russian Foreign Minister Sazonov, a British agent, and to Czar Nicholas II.

Tarpley points out that "the British were the first of the great powers to mobilize their war machine, in this case the Grand Fleet of the Royal Navy.

"On July 19, the British staged a formidable naval demonstration with a review of the Grand Fleet at Portsmouth.

"On the afternoon of July 28, Winston Churchill ordered the fleet to proceed during the night at high speed with no lights from Portsmouth through the Straits of Dover to its wartime base of operations at Scapa Flow, north of Scotland."

Vince Cable is deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat Party, and reportedly supported the removal of the Liberal Democrat's former leader, the anti-war Charles Kennedy.
