According to the Mail on Sunday, Premier Wen Jiabao made this offer at the start of his two-day visit to Greece.
Wen said that "China is holding Greek bonds and will keep buying bonds that Greece issues.
"We will undertake to support eurozone countries and Greece to overcome the crisis."
Wen is to attend an EU-China summit.
In the USA, the House of Representatives has voted for a Bill designed to protect against Chinese imports if China does not allow the yuan to rise significantly.
China has warned the USA that this could damage economic ties.

Now, in August 2010, Israel's Netayahu and Greece's George Papandreou have been discussing expanding military ties.
This is bound to put pressure on the Turks, who have no love for the Greeks.
Papandreou took Netanyahu on a trip to an island off the Athens coast, using a missile boat Israel sold to Greece eight years ago.
Israel and Greece signed a defense cooperation agreement in 1994.

The chaos of the Iraq war meant money could be made from arms sales, reconstruction projects and oil.
What about chaos in Europe?
Certain European countries have big debts.
Remember all those banks, many with pro-American directors, encouraging poor people to borrow large sums of money.

Why is Greece under attack?
Greece "has been until now ... frustrating a full integration of the Balkans in the American geostrategic orbit."
Why is Europe under attack?
Central economic control, by the European Commission, will lead to control by the USA and the end of independent European states.
The merging of the euro with the dollar will bring about the union of Europe and the USA.
Expect greater poverty? The UK economics minister Alistair Darling has said that the Labour party's planned cuts in public spending will be "deeper and tougher" than Margaret Thatcher's in the 1980s.
A UK Cabinet Office 'transition team', under the direction of Sir Gus O’Donnell, the head of the civil service, "has been 'war gaming' various scenarios - from pacts to coalitions to loose arrangements in parliament." (Will David Cameron be left hanging? )
As Labour and the Conservatives have virtually the same policies on war and terror, one possibility is a Labour-Conservative alliance.
This alliance would have a big majority and could bring in savage cuts.
Anti-sleaze campaigner Martin Bell is quoted in The Mail as saying: 'There is actually a possibility that the result of the election could be decided by electoral fraud. That’s pretty grim.
'We are facing a situation where we can no longer trust the integrity of our electoral system.
'It was a huge mistake to extend the postal vote. It opened up our system to all kinds of frauds.'
