Fresh Paint: Bright Chevrons & Happy Florals

Hello, friends, welcome to a new week! You ready for it? How was your weekend?

I had a pretty restful weekend. On Saturday, I scoured my house top to bottom ( okay, maybe not restful, but I actually enjoyed it!) and even hung up some artwork that has been sitting around waiting for frames. More on that later... ;)

And then on Saturday night, I took myself on a date. I went to see Soul Surfer and enjoyed a nice big bucket of buttery popcorn and an ice cold Coke! It was my first time going to a movie by myself but I have been wanting to do it for awhile and I have to admit, it wasn't awkward at all. And Soul Surfer was a fabulous movie-- you definitely need to go see it! I could relate with so much of it, being set in Hawaii. And the message was really well done. Go see it and treat yourself to some buttery popcorn too!

I also managed to finish up two big custom pieces this weekend!

The first is my first ever chevron piece.

 Aaand probably also my last.

I'm kind of kidding. Kind of.

I am not math minded in the least and so the measuring for this piece was... a challenge. But once that was finished, I had lots of fun painting this piece for Erika. I couldn't resist putting it above my couch for these pictures. It looked so good there, I was tempted to just keep it for myself!

But I think Erika is thankful that it's on its way to her house right now. It's going to look awesome above her new gray couch!

I painted the sides of each canvas too, so that she could separate them and hang them individually if she chooses in the future.

The second custom piece is this bright floral 18x18 canvas for Bethany. She was inspired by the artwork of Kim Parker and asked me to do something similar in my own style. I had so much fun painting this piece! I can't wait to see pictures of it in Bethany and Luke's home!

Today I am focusing solely on getting more paintings in the shop. Check in this week, as I'll be listing more Cuties and 'Olelo paintings as well as some other fun paintings! You just might find something you love!

Oh, did I mention I've been stuck at 97 sales for two weeks?? If you wanna push me over to 100, hop on over and snag some fun artwork for yourself!

Have a bright & happy Monday, everyone!

Fresh Paint: Custom Goodness

Lots of fun custom paintings to share with you today!

This first one was for Shey, who makes lovely camera straps. She wanted a custom Click-Click with a camera strap! I painted her 10x20 Click-click with the Carribbean strap, which has gray and white polka dots and a turquoise ruffle. I loooove how this painting turned out, don't you??

The next two are for Megan. Megan makes jewelry for her shop, Flawed Perfection Jewelry, and wanted a Cutie to reflect her passion. So I did a pair of jewelry pliers and some brightly colored beads like those on the necklaces and earrings she makes.

I also painted a pretty butterfly for Megan's mama.

Holly ordered a trio of Cuties-- a Dahlias Dahling Cutie, a magenta ampersand and a turquoise and magenta Click-Click! Pretty, pretty!

And now for a few shop announcements.....

With all these custom orders finished, you know what THAT means! I have two custom slots open, so email me at aisletoaloha@gmail.com if you are interested in a custom painting. Find my queue here  and check out some past custom paintings while you're there.

Remember my Studio to Home series? I love showing off Aisle to Aloha Studio paintings displayed in your home, so send me the best photos of your paintings and I'll feature them here! I'd especially love to see your Cuties!

And finally, I'm trying to make some room in my studio, so hop over to the shop and you might just spy a few paintings on sale! Liiiike, maybe this one and this one, or this one oooor this one? Happy shopping!

Have a fabulous weekend, my sweet friends! Oh, did I tell you, tomorrow is my birthday?! Eek, so excited to celebrate! Are you doing anything to celebrate my birthday, er your weekend? ;)

Fresh Paint: Click, Wish & Zing!

Before we go any further, I have to warn you. I upgraded to Picnik Premium this week and I have become obsessed with photo collages. Lonely pictures make me sad. I'd much rather let them hang out with their buddies. So, collages are going to be popping up all over this blog. Okay? Okay!

Carry on.

My latest custom paintings have been a lot of fun to paint! (Who am I kidding? I love everything I'm asked to paint lately!)

First up is a 12x12 Click-Click in a beautiful deep mustard yellow for Jamie. This yellow is divinely earthy and warm. I love discovering new colors to play with. Look for some Cuties in this color coming soon!

Then we have a 12x12 Wishin' in moss green for Moriah. Again, another color that I had a blast mixing and painting. (And I love the mustard paired with the green, too!)

And then I tried something new and played with words! My friend, Lindsay (awesome name, right?) is getting married this weekend and wanted a sign to hold for their wedding pictures to use in their thank you cards. "Mahalo" is Hawaiian for thank you, in case you were unaware.

I loved painting this 6x12 canvas and think I might just be introducing some similar paintings to the shop soon. Is that something you'd be interested in?

And lastly, a new trio of Cuties in the shop! The Citrus Trio, featuring Zest, Zing and Pucker (aka. lime, orange and lemon!) Perfect for a bright pop of color in your kitchen, or anywhere, really. You know I'm all about pops of color, people.

Purchase them as a trio or separately

And now for the winner of the $75 store credit to the amazingly awesome Zoe Clothing Company. Ya ready???

Alli (and Tommy too!) from Ferguson Finds!  Congrats Alli!! Email me at aisletoaloha@gmail.com!

Didn't win? Zoe has graciously offered to extend their 20% coupon code -- ALOHA20--until March 22nd! Go buy your favorite tees, tanks & dresses! You won't be disappointed, I love all my Zoe merchandise! :)

Happy Hump day, y'all!

Fresh Paint: Lil' Hedgehog & Other Fun Stuff.

I get reaaaally excited when I'm asked to do some artwork for nursery. Something about being a small part of that new life makes me feel honored and super duper happy.

I did some custom artwork for my friend, Melissa, a few months ago and she decided that she wanted some more Aisle to Aloha Studio goodness in her soon to-be baby boy's nursery! :) She is going with an adorable eclectic woodland theme. You can check out the progress of their nursery on Melissa's blog! (She has such GREAT ideas!!)

I got to paint a teeny little hedgehog dude and a navy blue custom color Wishin' Cutie. I really love how both turned out and can't wait to see them on Melissa's nursery gallery wall!

(Psst.. there's another navy blue Wishin' Cutie in the shop, run and snag it!)

I also painted a custom color for my Palm Branch Uno painting. I love the neutral yet rich palette of this ivory and chocolate version! This one was shipped to the US Virgin Islands! Cool, huh?

Are you interested in a custom painting from Aisle to Aloha Studio? I recently made my custom queue public, so now it's easier to find out if I'm taking custom orders! Just check out the "custom paintings and queue" page at the top of the blog. Empty spaces on the list indicate a free spot on my queue!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, I am back in Hawaii now! It was tough to come home to an empty house and leave my family in Maryland (including my Papap who is still feisty and up each night this week playing cards with my fam!) but I am very happy to be back to my studio and the sunshine!

So, any orders made from now on will be sent out on time and if you ordered a painting while I was gone, it will be sent out today! :)
