Assange and ShamirOne of the people working for Wikileaks is the 'disinformation agent' Israel Shamir.
Shamir appears to be anti-Israel, yet he says "I can't accept the Mossad and/or the Jews as the perpetrators of the 9/11."
The excellent blogger P2P drew our attention to the article 'Assange's Extremist Employees' in Reason Magazine, 14 December 2010.
We learn from this:
Israel Shamir is a Russian-born, Swedish-domiciled, multi-aliased Jew, who works for Wikileaks.
Shamir 'selects and distributes' the Wikileaks cables to Russian news organizations.
The Swedish media has identified Shamir's son, 'a disgraced journalist' named Johannes Wahlström, 'himself accused of falsifying quotes', as a WikiLeaks spokesman in Sweden.
Wahlström 'has authored stories based on the WikiLeaks material for the newspaper Aftonbladet and is credited as a producer on a recent Swedish public television documentary about the group'.
According to Swedish Radio's investigation, Wahlström is the gatekeeper of the cables in Scandinavia.
Wahlström told Swedish public radio that his "father is what I would call the Swedish equivalent to Salman Rushdie."
Shamir
Israel Shamir, supposedly the "Israeli-Jewish" enemy of Zionism, would appear to be a disinformation agent?
Shamir asserts that Wikileaks is not the work of neocons or Zionists.
In an article on Wikileaks, he refers to "the lunatic fringe" getting "excited about another Zionist plot." (Assange in the Entrails of Empire)
Shamir does not believe that the Pentagon, CIA or Mossad had anything to do with the planning of 9 11.
Shamir wrote (Eng42):
"I can't accept the Mossad and/or the Jews as the perpetrators of the 9/11."
"As for 9/11 whodunit, I feel that the 911 Truth Movement ... trivializes the event."
"The kamikaze could be practically anybody: American Nationalists, American Communists, American Fundamentalist Christians, American Anarchists, anybody who rejects the twin gods of the dollar and the M-16, who hates the stock market and interventions overseas, who dreams of America for Americans, who does not want to support the drive for world domination..."

The man that Assange may be staying with over Xmas - Vaughn Lockhart Smith - has quite an illustrious right-wing history (even more so than Jemima Goldsmith).
His family go back to Count James Lockhart, whose daughter Maria married John Smith of Ellingham Hall.
Ellingham is where Assange will be staying.
James was also in the Grenadier Guards.
His father and grandfather also have reputable military histories - as befits anybody entering Mi6. (see Lt.Col. Henry Lockhart Smith - in Landed Gentry)
Interesting to see Litvineko and Boris Berezovsky as past members of Vaughn's Frontline Club.
Not a bad way of controlling conflict coverage, is it?

Anonymous refers to an article by Vaughn Lockhart Smith explaing how he got into 'citizen-journalism'.
He left the army 20 years ago as a Captain and within three months was rentering conflict zones as an 'independent journalist'.
Here's an excerpt: "My main motivation in going there was out of concern at how the British public seem to be failing to take ownership of the war in Afghanistan.
"They never supported the invasion of Iraq, and British politicians had never really admitted to getting anything wrong in that campaign.
"So the British people seemed to consequently lose a sense of responsibility for the British military engagement in Afghanistan too. "
The Frontline Club is clearly an interface/clearing system between the military and the press - allowing the military to embed sympathetic journalists into conflict zones - and manage represenation.

Anonymous points out that the Frontline Club gets funding from, and many of its events are sponsored by, the Soros Open Society Foundation.
John Owen who is the founding chairman of the Frontline Club is on the board of the Open Society Foundation.
