Clinton focuses on al-Qaeda as frustration on Afghanistan grows

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton expressed frustration with the Afghan government Sunday and said that the U.S. goal in the country is to destroy al-Qaeda and not to prop up a corrupt government.

The secretary of state said that "we want to get the people who attacked us," hinting that the focus of the new Afghan mission will focus on counter-terrorism.

"That is what is driving the president to make the best decision he can make," Clinton said. {more}

Taking $2,167,300 from Wall Street during the 2010 election cycle as dual citizen Chuck Schumer has doesn't influence his decisions...does it?.....

Afghanistan world's second-most corrupt country, says watchdog


On the heels of yesterday's announcement that Afghanistan is forming a new crime unit to address the pervasive corruption in the country after insistent calls from international leaders that President Hamid Karzai improve governance, a watchdog group has ranked Afghanistan the world's second-most corrupt country, surpassed only by Somalia (AP, Al Jazeera, AP, BBC, Reuters). {more}

So according to Transparency International the U.S. is the 19th best in the world regarding corruption...Israel is 32nd best out of 180 countries rated.

Being the world's biggest killers, occupiers and suppliers of the merchandise of death, the U.S and Israel must not count as being that bad when using the term corruption.
