Part evangelist, part entertainer, all puppet, Obama took his traveling show to Iraq on April 7, 2009.
Amid cheers, he told troops: "You have given Iraq the opportunity to stand on its own as a democratic country ... it is time for us to transition to the Iraqis.
"They need to take responsibility for their country."Iraq's 'opportunity' has only cost them over 1 million lives, millions displaced and basically a poisoned, destroyed and weak country. But hey, a myriad of war profiteers and Israel are smiling and that's all that matters.
The Iraqi people's responsibility will be to bow to whatever puppet regime the US puts into power while a large number of our troops will never leave, just to make sure.
"The long war" is passe in the new world terminology. The Pentagon has officially adopted 'Overseas Contingency Operation' as the new term for the war.
These operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and soon to be other countries will last forever or until the empire crumbles.
In the meantime there will be plenty of opportunities for the media to show us how 'lucky' the Iraqis and Afghanis are to have us spreading 'democracy' in their lands.
