True Grit Story

Woody, in your four years as Sheriff, how many men have you shot?
Shot? Or killed?
Let us restrict it to killed so we may have a manageable figure!

I love how Woody is a perfect stand-in for any Western character. He'll have quite the post-Pixar career. (Toy Grit Mash-Up Trailer by forensicator8)

Stanley Kubrick's Iron Man

"You must design a poster for a movie called IRON MAN directed by Stanley Kubrick. This is all you know."

That was all the instructions the members of Warren Ellis' Whitechapel forums received in their latest challenge.

Above: Paul Sizer's take on A Clockwork Orange. Below: Michael Furious' take on Full Metal Jacket. Me: In film mashup heaven. (Link via Geek-Art | io9)

Koopa The Hutt

"There will be no bargain. I will not to give up my favorite decoration. I like Luigi where he is."

So Luke Skywalker is Mario and this Super Mario Bros./Star Wars mashup by Glen O'Neill is a fan's dream. (On TeeFury for just a few more hours.)

Some Day My Remixed Prince Will Come

Wishery is another whimsical video and musical remix from electronic music producer Pogo: "This is my track Wishery, comprising vocal syllables, musical chords and sound effects recorded from the 1937 Disney classic Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. Enjoy!" It's sweet, but of course it can't beat out Dwarfed Punk...

Wookie The Pooh

While James Hance hasn't returned (yet) to his comic strip of Han Solo and Chewbacca as Calvin and Hobbes he has given us something just as lovely — Wookie the Pooh.

"You'll most likely lose it again, anyway," Han told Eeyore-AT-AT.

The Breakfast Club Vs. The Archies

"The Breakfast Club done in the Archie’s style. They could have kept the whole John Hughs universe running in monthly books available on newstands everywhere. But they didn’t."

Brian McLachlan imagines a world where movies live on past the final credits, including The Goonies, Mad Max, Red Dawn and below, Heathers done in the style of Little Lulu. (Link via Neatogeek)

Toy Story Wire: Way Down In The Hole

The Wire and Toy Story together at last! I think I witnessed a little piece of heaven with this mashup. Love the characterizations: Woody as McNulty, Buzz Lightyear as Stringer Bell. That's comedy, well as least if you've watched The Wire. (Link via forces of geek)

Toyz Noize

Pogo returns with another epic mashup, this time mixing vocals and chords recorded from Toy Story with extra cymbals and a sine wave bass, creating an entirely original creation.

R2DJ Drops Robot Beats

Bidi-bidi-bidi. Warning, warning, danger, danger! Eclectic Method brings their mixing wizardry to our favourite buckets of bolts, including R2-D2 and C-3PO, Twiki, Johnny 5, WALL-E and EVE, Teddy, Robby the Robot, B9 and my personal favourite Marvin the Paranoid Android. Could have used some Bender though. (Link via Neatogeek)

Lady Gaga Vs. Sesame Street

The Yip Yips duet with Lady Gaga on Telephone. In this version, Gaga looks suspiciously like Grover. Or is she supposed to be one of the Martians? Yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip yip. (BuzzFeed via The Ampersand)

Beastie Boys Galactica

Galactica: Sabotage Comparison

A remake of The Beastie Boys Sabotage, using action scenes from Battlestar Galactica, matching the Spike Jonze original shot for shot — or at least as close as you can match a remake of a space drama to a '70s cop movie homage. Which, as it turns out, is really closely.

The Underwire tracked down mashup creator Katie King, a self-described "media-obsessed chick who digs all things sci-fi."

Lost: The Baywatch Years

Lost: Baywatch

I really can't get behind this version of the Lost credits set to the theme of Baywatch, as anything that uses more Jack can't be a good thing. Of course fans of shirtless Sawyer will be pleased. And why wait so long for Kate? And why isn't there any Charlie? He's a good swimmer, right? Oh, wait... (Link via Unreality)
