Be Excellent To Each Other

"Fourscore and seven minutes ago... we, your forefathers, were brought forth upon a most excellent adventure conceived by our new friends, Bill... and Ted. These two great gentlemen are dedicated to a proposition which was true in my time, just as it's true today. Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON, DUDES!"

Glen Brogan's Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure piece for the Autumn Society and Gallery 1988's 3B show. Check out the other two, which are definitely not bogus.

Abraham Lincoln: Cage Fighter

Just realized it was Presidents Day in the U.S. Meanwhile here in Canada (well, some parts) it was Family Day. That really tells you most of what you need to know about the differences between Americans and Canadians. So in honour (with a U) of the day, I present you Abraham Lincoln as King of the Cage, by Brandon Bird, who is knocking out high prices by putting anything featuring one of history’s great leaders on sale.

Ya Gotta Know When To Hold 'Em...

Huh. Racer X, young Bob Dylan, young Jerry Garcia, Peter Lorre, Dwight Shrute from the Office and a dishonest Abe Lincoln playing a game of poker, from a commission by pop artist Dave Perillo. I have no idea why and he doesn't explain, but no matter as I love the style. But if you care to speculate of the connections...

Fantastic Forefathers

It's time for a little Manifest Destiny. Abraham Lincoln as The Thing, George Washington as Mr. Fantastic, Teddy Roosevelt as The Human Torch and Thomas Jefferson as The Invisible Man.

It's funny, I was rolling through my favourite sites when I came across this and I wanted to find out who drew it. After a little searching it turns out it was Dean Fraser of Springfield Punx but from a couple of years ago. Ain't the internet a small place? (Link via Unreality)

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Video trailers for books are odd things as they just make me want to see them as a film, not dive into some pages. And Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter all the more so, as I can't imagine ever reading it, except maybe in comic book form.

That being said, the idea of the 16th President of the United States of America as a slayer is pretty funny. I can't wait for some kid to include this bit of alt-history in an essay. (Link via The Zeray Gazette)
