Fake It Til I Make It.

 Guys, I miss my seasons. Hawaii is beautiful and I'm so grateful that we have been able to live here. But I miss the cold. I miss bundling up in cozy sweaters, tugging on my boots, searching for the perfect winter accessories. I miss the crunch of the snow under my boots and that smell in the air right before it snows.

Christmas is weird in the heat. We bought our Christmas tree in tees and shorts, in a parking lot surrounded by palm trees and we strapped our tree to the car with our surf rack. Weird.

So, I gotta fake it.

Ya see that? The fire? Do not be fooled.

It's a television. With a "Fireside Reflections" DVD. You can choose from flickering flames, medium fire or roaring fire. Personally, I prefer roaring fire.

And that is how we fake it here at the Wilkins' house. 

Plus, hot chocolate and lots of candles, of course. And cranking the AC so we can wear sweatshirts and snowflake adorned pjs. 

What's the weather like where you are? Are you enjoying snow? I'm jealous. I hear it's super rainy in California lately. I'm loving the rain here lately. 

I think this hot weather has been contributing to my home sickness lately. I'm missing my family a lot this week. Are you with family this week? Or are you away from home like us? It's hard, isn't it?
